Why it's interesting
A near-faithful return of the 1969 A386, down to the three overlapping counters in silver, anthracite and blue, now driven by an El Primero that reads tenths of a second. At 38 mm it is a reminder that a great chronograph doesn't need to be big.

I bought it as a weekend watch and it ended up on my wrist most weekdays too. It's easy to read, easy to wear and it never feels precious.

Picked one up second-hand and it has quietly become my travel watch.
About this page
Verified specifications, checked September 2026
Dimensions, water resistance, movement and crystal were checked against the sources below.
Zenith's site returned HTTP 403 to every request, so specs come from Monochrome's spec box (38 × 12.9 mm, 50 m, box sapphire, El Primero 3600, mid-2021 launch) and Wempe's dealer table (sapphire, 5 bar, weight 102 g, price). Lug width not confirmed. Drawing: the tri-colour counters (silver at 9, blue at 3, anthracite at 6) are drawn in a single mid-grey because the renderer takes one counter colour; the black tenth-of-a-second ring and outer flange scale are not drawn.
The illustration is a bezelga rendering generated from the specifications. It is not a photograph and may simplify details such as logos, text and finishing.
