Seiko's 1968 hi-beat 6159 doubled its predecessor's depth rating to 300 metres, and this Marinemaster brings its hands and applied indices back almost unchanged at 42.6 mm. Inside is the 4 Hz 8L35 rather than a hi-beat, but the pebbled matte dial, 300 m case and 4 o'clock crown make it a genuine tool watch rather than a nostalgia piece.

The sources disagree on the bezel insert (Monochrome: steel; Time+Tide: aluminium), so it isn't stated. The applied hour markers include a round plot at 3 o'clock, which the 'diver' index style draws as a baton.
