Why it's interesting
Charles Lindbergh designed this navigation watch in 1931, four years after Longines timed his solo flight from New York to Paris. The rotating centre disc syncs the seconds with a radio time signal and the bezel corrects for the equation of time. At 47.5 mm it is as big as the original, and just as unapologetic.

Calibre L699.2 per the product sheet. The rotating bezel (hours and 15-minute steps of arc), the degree scale and the rotating seconds disc are not drawn. Longines' September 2012 press release announces the 47.5 mm self-winding re-edition; it doesn't print the reference. The 1931 design and 1927 flight per Monochrome.
